Default Air bag light?

During random times my air bag light will come on for no reason. I have a 97 ram 1500 with a 5.2L. anywho, just driving around town the light will come on, and then after a few minutes it will go off. got any ideas?

mines on all the time and i dont know why. i guess i should get it checked. i have heard something that the coiled wire in the wheel will get cut and set it off. it might have even been a recall but i dont remember.

Mine used to do it all the time. My passengers would get so annoyed at the 'bing bing' but I told them they could walk instead..

I pushed in all the fuses really good one day and pressed the harness clips under the dash (by the e-brake pedal) tighly together and it went away. There's a few other connectors near the column you can get to if you take the kick panel off. As mentioned the clockspring in the steering wheel could be the cause and the dealership charges a hefty price for those.
