Default Leaf Spring Center Pin

I put on a set of add a leafs on my truck tonight. When I was putting one side back together, the center pin stripped out. The pin is still in there and the leaf pack is fully compressed together. I also peened over the top of the pin so the nut does not come off. I can't imagine there would be any problems since I put on all new u-bolts, and I would think they take most of the stress in the rear suspension rather than the center pin. Will this be sufficient or do I need to pull it apart and put in a new center pin?
