That's what I read. I also read that the vacuum keeps the rings stabilized thereby reducing wear on them. The other thing I read was that some vehicle that had put a filter in place of the pcv caught fire. It sounded like a Coyote/Roadrunner cartoon, but, once the filter was saturated with that crap, it dribbled down the valve cover onto the exhaust manifold/headers where it ignited. The flame followed the dribble back up to the saturated filter, and boom.

I guess that shoots that idea down....[sm=shootshoot.gif] I was looking for some info like that before I did anything else. I guess I'll leave mine alone with the one filter and the pcv valve intact.

Do you have a filter in-line with the pcv? If so what and how much of it are you picking up?

I am going to swap the pvc and breather, moving the pcv to the passenger side valve cover and the breather to the driver side one.
The boss for the pcv valve on the used intake I bought is on the passenger side, and I will eliminate ~2-3 feet of vacuum line that way.
I am hoping that some of the crap I am picking up now is due to cooling in that length of vacuum hose. Otherwise, I will be emptying the filter every time I fill up.

If you do have a filter, and could post some pics I would appreciate it.

No, I don't have the filter. I just have the breather filter on the passenger side like the prev. pic. Still have the pcv on the other side. After that one post I guess I'll leave the pcv on there. It probably helps "air out" the motor anyway by pulling fresh air through the open filter I put on the other side. Don't know if that matters or not - but until I hear a better idea I guess I'll leave it alone....
