Default Oil gauge

I was driving down the road yesterday and pulled into the turning lane to make a left hand turn, knowing that it would take a while for the light to change, I pulled the truck out of first and into neutral. While I was waiting on the light to change I happened to look down, the gauge moved from about 60 psi. and went to about 40 or so, started bouncing and then droped to zero. It took me a couple seconds to realize what was happening, I looked at the guage and it was bouncing around on zero. I shut the truck off, waited a few seconds and started it back up again. The pressure went back to normal. Anyone know what could be the problem. I'm think that it may be a gauge, because my oil is were it needs to be on the dipstick. Help!!!

To be honest with ya you would be better off hooking up an aftermarket gauge for the oil pressure. From personal experiance the stock ones really aren't that accurate.

Oil pump could be going out or your pick up in the oil pan could be getting clogged.
