Default Tire size question?

Hello group I'am a newbie here. I just bought a used 97" Dodge rams ext. cab sport with the 5.9. My question is how much bigger of a tire can I go to fill up some of the wheel well clearance? Also will going to a bigger tire cause transmission problems for me? I have talked to a few people who claim running bigger tires will tear up the trannys. Thanks[IMG][/IMG]

well I was wondering if a tire of 265-75-16 will fit on my 95 ram 5.2. The measurement is 31.6 but I don't know if it will fit. I hope so cuz the tires that I looked at are pretty sharp and the tire guy said that you can put about anything on a 2wd ram. I was just askin if they would fit??

4x4? 1500? 2500?

I have 265's on my 97 1500. Thewy look TINY with that 3" lift.

If you have a 2500 you *might* be able to hit 35's w/out a lift but You'll probably get some rub. 33's for sure though I'd say if its a 4x4!
