Plenum Pan Replacement

Plenum Pan Replacement
I am getting ready to replace my plenum pan over spring break (if the weather is nice), and I was wondering about a couple of things. First, is the APS kit with the manifold gaskets adn new bolts the way to go? It is really the only kit I have heard alot about. The second question is for people who have actually done it. Did you replace the gasket dry, or did you put any type of liquid gasket material in there as well? I plan on doing this only once, so I wanat to make sure I do it right.

RE: Plenum Pan Replacement
For me it was actually a few cents cheaper to get the less expensive APS kit (w/out bolts and gasket) and then go to Advanced Auto and get the Felpro gasket git and new bolts. So its pointless to get the moreexpensive kit with that stuff just to turn around and get the Felpro stuff.

RE: Plenum Pan Replacement
I used the felpro gasket and the "Right Stuff" sealant suggested in the APS instructions. Might have been overkill, but it has held since ~Thanksgiving. Only oil in my intake after that was from pcv boss. First fix with the metal gasket lasted around three weeks.

RE: Plenum Pan Replacement
only thing i had a problem with with the gaskets .. is that the end gaskets the rubber ones have little **** on them that stick in the block for alignment purposes..well ripped off the old ones and one of the **** stuck inside the block and was a pain to get out.. didnt get all of it out either.. used some RTV to hold it inplace while i lowerd the kegger down
