Tranny O/D
well im at 156000kms now (96933 miles for those of you lucky enuf to not have the metric system ramed down your throught) and havent had a single tranny **** yet... kock on wood lol... i have just started manuley shutting on and off o/d i had never thought of it before and the tranny prob could be on a better service scheduel too anyways what im saying is in my opinion if its your trannys time ittl go regardless if you baby it or beat the **** out of it
who and where does this torque management get deprogramed?, i would like to remove that i think, i do notice when i put throttle down to floor, not all the way just before the detent/downshift wot position, it will gogogo then it seems like it shifts way too soon, and its like hey cmon it would be a nicer to have em a lil later..

By adjusting the cable in this way it will kick-down sooner and stay longer.

Hmmmm, this makes me wonder about something I have noticed ever since I have owned my truck. When I have OD off, and am approaching speeds around 45-55 mph or so, then hit the overdrive button to turn it on, it seems like RPMs jump up noticably for a few seconds, then it shifts down into overdrive bringing rpm's down again. Is this caused by this torque management, or does the overdrive really adjust the shift point slightly?
I leave OD off in town and towing, and only turn it on when I am on the highway. I do a full trans flush about every 10,000-15,000 miles (once a year in the spring time before I start towing the camper for the summer). The usable life of ATF+4 is only about 25,000 miles.

This is the torque converter momentarily unlocking until the trans. figures out where it needs to be.
