Default Front driveshaft clunk

I did search and found nothing as to why my front driveshaft is clunking. Your first thought is going to be u-joints, I checked them, they are fine. I got under the truck and shook the driveshaft and found that it moved in the middle, not at the ends. It seems to be a 2 piece shaft, in the middle is a rubber boot and that where it clunks from.

Besides replacing the shaft, any idea how to fix it?

WHen I wash the truck today I will try to snag pictures.

Thanks

If the slip joint in the center of the shaft has devloped slop/play its time to replace the shaft. Get a center to center measurement with the truck sitting on level ground and call a shop that can build you a shaft. Don't know where you are located but if you can't find a shop try Driveline Service Inc in Sioux Falls SD. The guys & gals there kick a$$ for service and price.Used them for years and have never been let down. They can be reached a 1-800-999-6450.[sm=groupwave.gif]
