Default Trouble Code

Ok so i guess a country boy never learns. My father in law asked me how my truck was running and like a dumbass i said great. Well on the way home the CEL came on. I pulled out code P 441 which from the list i found says

P0441(M) Evap Purge Flow Monitor Insufficient or excessive vapor flow detected during evaporative emission system operation.

Can anyone put this in english for me? and help me fix it.... thanks

You could have a leak in your EVAP system. Check the lines between the evap purge solenoid and the charcoal canister for a vacuum leak. The canister should be on the frame rail under the passenger side of the cab. Also check the lines going to the fuel tank.

Also check the canister for holes or damage. Another thing to check for is fluid in the canister. If it makes a sloshing noise, then liquid has gotten into it, and it should be replaced.

One other thing it could be...your gas cap. If it's loose or bad it can cause this code. [8D]

Default RE: Trouble Code

I just had this code pop up on my truck yesterday. I am suspecting it's the Evap canister since mine got soaked with gas during my earlier forays with the fuel system. I cleared the code and we'll see what happens. I have an acquaintance who works at a dealership and am seeing if he can get me a good price on parts.
