haha- you are very VERY correct in this statement. wellllll we'll see what happens. thanx again for the help yall- ill just get that build sheet link and get it all figured out.
better yet get the color code off the doorjam/glove compartment sticker...cant remember where its at.
anything thats made to "color match" will run off that code...the entire industry runs off of color codes..

I know where you are at with your color.
Our '97 was a blue and I have yet to see another with the same color.
A lot of "close but no cigar" deals.
Thats gonna be a lot of DupliColor!!!

so we're talkin about these different blues- apparently the owner before me decided he was going to paint over the chipping hood (i mentioned it earlier. its why i want to paint the entire truck) and well anyways so yea the previous owner definatley didnt even come close with matching the right color blue:

Ouch man, That scratch is really nasty, and with that hood, I would just repaint the whole truck. If you want, Sand it down to the bare metal and primer it yourself, that way it save yourself $$ from having the body shop do it. (At least sand and primer the big *** scratch and the hood). Shouldnt cost ya more than 600-750 depending on the body shop you go to to get a descent paint job. Wouldnt want to spend much more since those damn trees keep hitting ya
.
Just my 2 cents

yea the trees wont be a problem anymore. that was a purely stupid mistake- takin my fat truck wheelin with some jeeps on trails. other than that one trip i do mostly mud holes and mud bogs. so yea im gonna get it painted. but Maco (around here anyways) will do it for well under 600. a friend of mine just had his truck done for 300. smaller truck, but you get the idea.
any ideas for what color? my first inclination is to do the same color blue..... but throw out some other colors if you think itd look good.

You could honestially get a big size of the Express Paint i linked and hit the bed, tailgate, and hood. Just put some clear coats on it afterwards and it will look 100% perfect! Like I said the Express is good quality and you pay for it. Make sure you get it done prefessionally though, otherwise it probably won;t last as long.
For a new paint job on the whole truck your probably looking at $3-6k very pricy.
