Getting Tinted Tomorrow
Hey guys taking my truck to get the front 2 windows tinted tomorrow. Anyone sure on what % they are i've heard 20% and 35% but never a definate answer. I'm just curious. The shop i am taking it to said they'd check it to make sure it is a match. I'm paying $40.00 a window.... that sound reasonable? The shop is highley recommended around the area. I also bought a sticker to go across my windsheild at a car show that has the dodge symbol and says RAM TOUGH but i havent put it on yet due to such cold weather in minnesota so i'm going to see if they will throw that on for me as long as i am there. any input/suggestions appreciated.... i really need to get some pics once the weather shapes up around here.

Just got ours done too. The tint shop knew what we could have and still be legal. We paid $85 for both door windows, and $25 for the windshield strip. Sounds like your quote is right on.

I paid $55 for both windows and the windshield stripe but things are cheaper here in La. I tried to figure out how dark everything was but then I gave up and went 5% all the way around.
Well it is only a problem in two instances at night. Backing up when there isn't any additional light around ( I think I need brighter reverse lights) and when you are about to make a right or left turn onto another road and some inconsiderate little person flips on the interior lights to check her make-up. when the inside lights are on you can forget seeing out of the side windowns.

I had 5% all around in my old 94 chevy (oh how I miss that truck, but I'm glad I moved on). As mentioned before, At night its only a problem backing up when there isnt any other light around (And for me, When i had my camper topper on the rear end when i was moving, It was HARD AS **** to see out the backend, especially since the topper had 20% all around !!!. Mirror are your friend in these situations, just gotta learn how to use them to your benefit.

The only time mine would bother me was on a rainy day near dark or with thick cloud cover. Would need to crack the window to check for traffic, in case some idiot forgot to turn their lights on.
The tinted rear window with a tinted rear window in the cab high shell was challenging. Went to Autozone and got a set of KC, (I think), back up lights that are made to fit on receiver frame. Work great. Have an L bracket that attach to the back, and the light is adjustable. Not the plastic molded type that go around the receiver.
