Not sure about this, but just a thought. If you think you have had an exhaust leak, which would make more noise at start up, could be possible there is a burnt valve or two... Depending on where the leak is and how cold it is in your area..

 

I'll bet it's the fuelpump.

If it did this all of a sudden and out of the blue,mine did the same thing and it was the fuel pump.

 

im betting its not the fuel pump because why would it be making that loud hissing from the manifold up front?? by the way, whats a burnt valve gonna cost me to replace and is it difficult?

 

Mine had a loud hissing also.

 

As did mine, but mine was so bad it sounded like it was choking and you could clearly see the exhaust coming out the intake.

 

so it did that just because of the fuel pump???

 

Yes, I'd be going down the road and it would loose power.It still ran but wuoldn't hardly go.I'd limp to a gas station put gas in and go fine until a week or month later or 2 or 3 months it would happen again.I finally took it to the stealer.They checked the fuel pressure and said it was the pump then charged me $70.
