Default Yet ANOTHER Header Question

Doing some searches on header posts I have a real quickie.

What is the installation difference between a shortie and a long tube header?

Am I correct in assuming a shortie is a direct replacement for factory exhaust manifolds? Whereas long tubes require modifications to the rest of th eexhaust system?

Thanks!

correct... 9 times out of 10 a shortie header willl be a direct replacement for the stock exhaust manifolds... if you have a 4X4 , as of now your limited to shorties unless you wanna pay a buttload for custom headers bent and welded... if you have a 2X4 you have some more options,,, i think there is a few options as for long tubes.. long tubes generally provide more HP and MPG's then shorties provide..

you are also correct that a custom exhaust system is require to fit longtubes... as long tubes arent direct replacement and will cost you more in the long run for a finished exhaust..
