Ok, I got my truck back Finally!

hehe anyways I'm looking at it, It has a nice factory transmission cooler separate from the radiator (I found out the hard way, i found the lines that i was looking for, put my hand on it to see if it was the ones going to the AC... Yeah WRONG.. lol)

Anyways, anyone know which line (top or bottom) is the in and out?
If you have a factory cooler separate from the radiator - you shouldn't add another one. Three is too much restriction and too much cooling of the fluid. If you indeed have the factory separate one it means your truck was equipped with the tow package. I believe the factory one is sandwiched between the radiator and the condenser......

not sure if this has been coverd but you can also double up on the cooler...since you have an inlet and outlet from the lower rad section ... you could run the inlet from the tranny into the rad the outlet from the rad into the cooler inlet and from the cooler outlet back into the tranny... this also adds the amount of available fluid .. not alot..maybe a quart .. if that .. but a little bit could help... with my setup im soley runnin the aux cooler... and its behind the ac condensor,,, the tranny shop put it there... eventually when i upgrade my elec system im gonna swap it to the fron the the a.c condonseor and run a seperate super LOW amp draw fan that will reman on at all times... the cooler they gave me is kina small so having constant air could hurt...then i wouldnt have to run my huge dual 16" fans (elec conversion) when i wanna kick on the ac in the warm weather..

just a few ideas for ya... let us know how it turns out...

That is how mine is set up now - I ran the lines so that the fluid goes through the cooler in the radiator, then out of the radiator to the aux cooler, and back to the tranny. I haven't seen a factory aux cooler setup so I can't tell you if thats how it is plumbed. I would assume it also goes through the radiator cooler first. I just don't think it would be a good idea to add a 3rd cooler to the system if thats what he is looking at.........

I have mine set-up through the Rad cooler and then the aux cooler also. It actually helps warm the transmision in the great Canadian winters.

Mine doesnt go into the radiator, the hoses go straight from the tranny to the cooler... I'll post pics of it when I wake up more... Maybe double check on it too, and I dont think my radiator has the inlets/outlets for the transmission... =/

As for the truck being a towing package, dont the trucks that are considered to have a towing package usually come with a hitch? Becuase i had to order a hitch for mine =/

Ok here are some pictures of the current factory set up right now. I just checked and neither side of the radiator has inlets for the tranny =/

Thats impressive. First one I've seen without going through the radiator. The cooler was part of the tow package. I have seen the dealer pull a hitch off one truck to use on another to sell. Maybe they were having issues with radiators at the factory that day.

Yeah, that looks factory - and I didn't see any fitting ports in the radiator for the lines either. As big as that cooler is I don't know if adding another one would be any better.......You can go back to my post earlier in this thread and look at my pics to campare. Mine didn't have the fact. tow package and the tranny cooler was the one in the radiator. I installed mine like I did (thru rad cooler - thru aux cooler - back to tranny) because I read that if you bypass the rad cooler you might have issues with Dodge's warranty. I guess that wouldn't apply if there wasn't a fitting for a cooler in the radiator......
