Default rear door panel removal on quad cab

hey guys, I'm trying to install some 5.25" speakers in the back doors on my '98 quad cab.

I have the special tool to remove the clips, but i'm still having a hard time...

What am I supposed to do to take the panel off?

does anyone know the color codes for the wires?

I have the non-infinity speakers and I'm trying to find out which wire is + and which is -

EDIT: just connected positive on the wire labeled A and negative on B... is this right?...seems to work ok

still hung up on the rear doors, i have all the clips undone except on the door handle side.

Did you take the screws out of the plastic insert where you grab the door to close it?
I don't have truck here to look but i think there are two.
No, you don't have to remove the latch.
The screws are black so you may be overlooking them.
The rest of the door is just clipped just yank it off.

The easiest way to test speaker wire is to just connect the wires which ever way you "Think" it should go... Now go turn on the stereo, no it wont hurt the speaker (shouldnt anyways unless your running insane amount of wattage, but since your trying to figure out from factory wiring, im assuming its only from head unit). Now play something with bass... If the speaker hits "Backwards" when the bass is supposed to hit then its wired the wrong way, switch it...

Another way to check is to check the factory speaker. Most will have the + and - symbol on the speaker... just match those to the new ones.

Speaking of which, my drivers side door speaker is dead =( i need some new ones... and a 500 watt 4 channel... and an EQ, mp3 player, 1500 watt subwoofer with 2 12's....

/End Dream list

well... got it all figured out.

I had the screws in the grab handle out, but there is another torx head screw where the door handle is on the inside, after that, it came out easy

the factory speakers didnt have a + or - , but they connecters were marked with an A and B

turns out A is positive and B is negative... hope this helps anyone else out
