Default Another wierd front end sound !

Seems like theres always like 5 posts on wierd front end noises [:'(]

Oh well, yesterday I was scoping out some summer camping spots and there was some snow still, so I I had it in 4wd and noticed a metal clicking/clanking sound from the front end. (I was going straight too) Both wheel bearings are 13k old so its probably not them. It only does it in 4wd too, so I'm thinking axle u-joints. What do you guys think before I replace them?

Safe bet on the u-joints.
I recommend Morey's Super Red grease from NAPA...
A litttle pricey, but well worth it.This stuff stays where you put it!

When mine went bad the first time you could hear the clicking sound in 2WD while driving past a privacy fence or barrier at slow speeds. They were deffinately worn.

im bout to "rebuild" the front end .. ujoints/balljoints inner seals and start troubleshooting the steering arms..

its hard to test to see if the axle unjoints are bad,, can really grab on and do the twisty thingy huh.
