Default Is there something under my plastic bedliner?

I bought a 2000 1500 that has a plastic bedliner in it. On each side of the tailgate there are small bars welded for tie-downs and the bedliner is cut out to access them. Is there the same type of thing in the front of the box that I can't see because of the bedliner? If so, where are they so I can cut out the bedliner if possible?

I would look at my truck right now, but since its raining outside, and i'm half dressed... Sorry...

Umm your best bet would be to just pull the bedliner, not hard at all, should be secured in the bed with just a couple of snaps until the rail... If not its got railcaps on it. just take those off and then the bedliner..

To save you time just pull the front part of the bedliner off and bend forward a little. Take a flashlight and peek in there.

On my 97 the front has a hole on each side in the floor of the bedliner. There are holes in the bed with hooks/crossbar to hook a strap to, right at the front edge about 5" from the side. They have rubber plugs to cap off too. They are a pain unless you use a very small hook. Thought about getting a couple like in the rear and adding them to the front.

Is it going to be nasty under there? I think I can see marks where a topper has been on there so maybe it isn't too bad underneath. I'll cross my fingers.

Like I said earlier, I think the truck had a topper on it before I bought it. If I buy a tonneau cover it shouldn't be a problem, right?

I had a beat up Mazda pickup, I threw a cinder block in the bed and it poke throught the bed floor [:@] So I fiberglassed the bed floor and about 3 inches up each side with the heavy duty fiberglass. Then I used Duponts cheap roll on bed liner. The bed never looked so good and it took a beating for over 2 years until the head gasket let go and I had a white steaming mess drivning down the highway The dupont stuff doesn't like heat I found out, it will peel and flake.

Just bite the bullet and remove the screws and pull it up for a look. If there are any problems you can take care of them. Locate and or add tie downs. If there isn't anyproblems, put the screws back in and keep on trucking. Think positive......
