Default Possible Plenum Problem?

I hadn't thought about this until just now but I have noticed when my truck sits over night or for a couple hours that when I first start it up it runs a little rough. I wondered could oil be building up in the intake and then causing my truck to run rough until it burns all that built up there out? I have never noticed being low on oil, so I don't think it is burning much if it is at all.

I'd yank the IAC and clean it 1st, it may be sticky causing a rough idle. I think you should be able to do it w/o yanking the TB hat.

I'll try that then. Its not that I don't plan on doing the plenum and everything I was just hoping it could be put off for another month or so. I want to wait until summer so I am making more money and have a little more time to work on it.

Hey, I just read your sig... when was the last tune up? the MSD stuff will eat up plugs, cap & rotor pretty quick. I was swapping mine about every 20k.

It has maybe been like 3k on the wires and like 7k on the cap and rotor and then maybe 5k on the plugs. I am going to switch over to Accel stuff on the cap and rotor. The wires I have need to be swapped out too because they are 7mm NAPA ones, they are the high-performance set for my truck but I need to get some MSD's or something like that. The MSD ignition hasnt been on there very long and I think I am going to swap the truck plugs I have in there now over to 3923's and give them a shot.

I can tell you the best $ spent on cap & rotor is to go with the factory stuff. I went with Accell on 1 of my tuneups and it didnt seem to last any longer or perform any better than the mopar stuff. Also, Bosch plugs do not work well with the msd. 2's or 4's (tried them both) the best plug was the NGK's ZR5F-11 is the p/n. they lasted the longest at 20k miles. stretch them too far and you'll develop a pinging problem.

the best way to fix the plenum w/o welding is to do the Felpro gasket swap. that is by far the best gasket to use. You might also look into modding the intake. there are some threads on here talking about it if you do a search.
