Default installed remote start in '98, got a question bout the parking lights

just installed a boa remote start and keyless entry into my ram. everything went fine and works, except for the parking light flash. obviously, its tough to tell when my doors lock or unlock, or when its running, without the lights.

i hooked the wire from the unit to the running lights wire. but, the manual for the boa system says it will only work with negative triggered systems. according to the website (and the fact that mine doesn't work), the ram setup is a positive triggered system. there was mention in the manual that i would need to install a relay or something.

does anyone know what type of relay i would need, and how i would go about hooking that up? i'm pretty good with the electrical stuff, but i haven't needed to use a relay before, and i'm not too familiar with how to go about adding one. thanks for any help in advance.

any standerd relay will work

hook the wire off your alarm to post 85
hook constant power to 86
hook constant power to 87
hook your park lights to 30

aahhh you beat me to it...

a standerd 30/40 amp Bosche style relay with socket (not required but nice to use) would be your best bet

like so http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/10-PA...QQcmdZViewItem

i bought these things like they were goin out of style when i isntalled... used them religously... i love me some relays now!!!

you only need one but that gives you an idea what we are talkin about... them sockets make it nice to wire up and keep in clean
