Default Leaking SON OF A @$#*&

Okay walked out the house and what do I see a puddle, not oil, brake fluid, nor coolant! So I grab the creeper and roll under there line myself up and look up. F&*k my power steering box is leaking. Here I am looking for a thread for a repair and I find one, damn it is not the right one. It seams they are for the pitman arm seal mine is leaking by the input shaft. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it or do I start looking for a steering box???

You can buy a rebuild kit for them, replacing/rebuild depends on the mileage and how loose the steering is. Pavement sucks.com has a write up on it I think.
My old one was leaking from the pitman arm, but the new box leaks from the gasket between top plate and the body.
The POINT is don't buy a LARES steering box, it leaks form day one. It has a lifetime warrenty, but who wants to do a job twice.

Now that I'm seeing all these messages about a leaking steering box, I am going to have to take a look at mine.

For something like this, usually to save money for more important MODS, I will go to:

http://www.car-part.com

Don't buy the first one you see nor the cheapest. Search through the results. I usually go towards the middle of the search or at least one page before the cheapest ones.

Just chiming in.

I went with a Lares 3500 steering box. It last a year or so then I replace it.

If I look back and did it over again I would get a PSC box (the extreme duty one). It is the same price as the stock 1500 one (maybe 50-60 bucks more).

I'm debating to rebuild mine or just replace it cause the steering is pretty sloppy. You know of any sites to buy those boxes Ram It?
