Default Error code FYI

Ok guys you can write this down, last nite my Ram starting running like dog sh**. This morning I went to my trusty mechanic friend who has a really cool Gen diagnostic machine, we pulled 2 codes out of the truck.

TCC (Torque Converter Clutch circuit) System ---PO740
Misfire Cylinder 3---- PO303

It even went as far as to give me the times. So I started poking around under hood and found that my # 3 cylinder plug wire has been to close to the manifold and had heat rotted and was crack causing the constant misfire, and when the engine started bucking, it triggered the TCC code.

Just thought I would put that out there for future reference.

Shott- not to jack the thread but I have been afraid to wash my engine compartment since I added the MSD box. Will it hurt it to get a little wet. I'm not gonna go to spraying on it or anything like that but if some water gets on it will it be ok?

Default Codes PO303 & PO740 problem

I had the same check engine codes come up and I found that the #3 sparkplug wire was shorting on the heater hose which was dangling above the distributer. My truck has 181,000 miles on it and the short had just started. A simple fix of using an electrical zip-tie to keep the hose away from the wire. Hope this info helps someone else with their problem.
