Default Suspension TSB

If you ever do this TSB on a 1500:

http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2000/02-04-00.htm

You need 12 of the tip liners, not 8. It's a cheap, easy, and quick job that really quiets the rear suspension, but it looks as though I'm giong to have to pay another $7 in shipping for $4 in parts.

You got me. I must have one though because the old liners looked like someone took a hammer and a blow torch to them.

Here's where I got them:
http://www.moparpart.com/dps_index.html

Part #'s are:
52113136aa
52113142aa

Seems they are cheaper than I thought. When I just looked them up it listed 8 of the liners for $2.19

BTW if you hate Gordon or Johnson you may want to buy them elsewhere. The site is part of the Hendrick group.

in that tsb . it says you only need 8 liners if your truck ins a 1500 and 12 if you have a 2500 or 3500.. and you need 8 clips (not originally on the truck) for a 1500

you ended up needing 12 total? any reason?

Yes. (and I'm not being a smartass here) I had six on either side. Best I can figure it's some kind of typo. I've seen alot of them in various TSB's. Now that you have me thinking about it, It probably should have read 8 for the standard cab 1500 and 12 for the QC. There is probably an extra leaf on the QC to deal with the added weight. I guess anyone wanting to do this should count them before they order.

You might want to call them on the quantity thing. When I first posted, I could have sworn I put in 8 and 8 for the order quantities. It could just be that they come in bags of 8 and are $2 apiece. The isolators say they come in bags of three and I got one bag of three and a bag that was broken open with 5 in it.

yea thast a good point,... not sure when they mean quantity as if a bag of 8 or youll need 8 and there 2 bux a peice..i dont see 8 liners being 2 bux for the whole set... but then again all the stuff on that site is pretty dirt cheap!
