Default Whats involved in???

hey guys now before i explain what im lookin for let me first state for you why im asking. I have a 99 Ram Sport quad cab 4x4, I want to bag the truck and make it more of a street rod and not a mud buggy. I know most of you are going to ask yourselves WHY......... Well the answer to that question is I have seen a few lifted Rams and though they do look nice, it's just not my style. I ended up getting the truck simply due to the fact it was what I could pick on the lot with the kind of room I was looking for. I really didn't want a 4wd vehicle, but like I said this is all they had that was'nt a single cab truck. Now, on to my question.

What all would be involved in me putting bags on the truck? Can I simply put on the same parts as a traditional Ram and be all set? Or is there more work involved? I would assume there is more work due to the crank case ect on the front and tranny area as they do tend to stick down further. If this is a pretty easy fix and I can use the same parts Ill be bagging it as soon as I have some spare cash to dump. If there is more work then it's worth I will either leave it stock or possibly put a small lift on it. and by more work then its worth meaning tons more then it would be to typically bag a regular 2wd truck. There is going to be alot of work involved reguardless but if its a ton more then what im already looking into then i prob wont be doing it. And by bagging I am looking to lay frame. But I may settle for as low as possible. Any info you guys can provide would be a great help.

Do you have a 318 or 360?

Theres a few companies our there that make air suspension kits for the Rams.

Also if your want to race the truck (or not even race just make it go 1/2 decent) your biggest concern will probably be weight reduction since its a 4x4 QC. They are HEAVY!

I have the 360 in it. The only performance mods I may do is later add a turbo kit or S/C and natrually open up the intake and exaust side of things. I'm not looking to race the truck just a nice cruiser that has all the power and torque i'll ever need.

HAHA Justin what a coincidence that we both share the same first name. Unfortunately for you I live in southern Louisiana, however I do have an uncle that lives in the nashville area. LOL. As for my truck i'm not exactly willing to trade I do enjoy her quite a bit. And I highly doubt you would want to take my notes on. At $483 a month it's a bit pricey, luckily it's only for 28 months. But to fill you in on the things youve asked. its a 99 RAM SPORT has the 360 and is quad cab, the odometer had 112K miles on it when i got it it currently has 113K.

Ah whoa, I used to live in Panama City Beach FL, not far from LA. As for my car note - its 330 a month and i plan on paying it off next month in FULL, Just bought the truck a month ago... hehe.

Ah well, it was worth a shot anyways =P If anything, i'm gonna make the 318 into a 390 stroker, put some r/t heads, M1 intake, headers, 55MM TB (I think thats the biggest one fastman has), upgrade the ignition system, get a bullet proof APS tranny, 4.10 gears with a detroit locker, march underdrives, many more options too long to list... Also plan on lowering the beast with a 2/4 drop or equivelant...

Gonna start with the basic mods first over this summer to pep it up a little bit, then drive the engine to the ground from there hehe.
This is gonna be a 5 year project, or at least something i gotta save up for in 3 years and drop all the money down at once =P

well my advice to you since your paying it off so quickly is that you should wait at least 6 months to build your credit to a very reasonable score. you can in turn still mod the truck like you would want, and it would actually save you some trouble and time. you sound like you have a great plan for the truck and i wish you the best of luck with that. as for the drop i personally would go with a 3/5 or a 4/6 your going to get your best handling and performance/ride out of the 3/5 and it will give it a really awsome stance. with the setup your goin with i couldnt see anything lager then 20s on the truck strictly for weight and rotating mass. ALSO I HIGHLY ADVISE IN UPGRADING YOUR BRAKES!!!! nothing worse then an *** load of power and not being able to stop it. Seriously I really do wish you the best of luck. And I cannot wait to see the end results.
