fix bumper?
just wondering if anyone knows whether this problem can be fixed by tightenin the bumper brackets? is it just that a bolt has come loose? or was the previous owner in a wreck that made the bumper like this?

Looks to me like the previous owner hit somebody in the gashole......Check the bumper around the brackets where it bolts on for any bending. That should tell you whats up. If the brackets are loose, that is your problem. If not - you can either remove the bumper and straighten it to the best of your ability or get another one at a salvage yard........
I believe it is the bumper. My was the same way when I bought my truck. When I got my bull bar I had to remove the bumper to put it on and you could tell that the bumper was bent when I had it on the floor. I see alot of these trucks with the front bumpers like this. It must not take too much to bend these things. HHMMM, I wonder if I could bend mine straight? because it absolutly drives me crazy!![:@]
yea it ticks me off, and ive also seen lots of other Rams with it around town.... i guess ill take a look at it next weekend to see if its the brackets or the bumper itself.
although ive been toying with the idea of havin a custom bumper made anyways......

i guarantee it is not the brackets. it's the bumper itself. well ok the brackets are not bent i should say. they have just come loose and have tilted up from some frontal impact. i had to replace my bumper after taking out a four inch steel speed sign pole. hit directly on the bracket, ok like two inches off of it, so no frame damage. yeah it just tilted the bracket up. since the brackets are held in place by three bolts in slots (i think, or just two) they are easy to knock out of place. it's a couple of hour job, i put a new one on in an afternoon in late winter.. in fading light.
another sign of front impact is how far from the grill the edge of the bumper is. i do believe it should be about three inches. if you want pictures i have them... or can take them

Looks like loose brackets. usually impacts bow the bottom in unless it was a tall truck. Is the other side kicked out too? If there isn't any scrape marks on the bumper it's probably the brackets. Kind of hard to adjust the headlight like that.
