I have had a big truck payment and kids for 6 years. My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 has remain mostly stock and very well kept...Im about to lose the truck payment and the kids (graduation) YEA!!!!!!!

I want to keep my old truck and run it another 6 years. I will be able to afford to play a little with it now and do some of the things I always wanted to do.....but what are those things?

I have about 100,000 miles on her and the problems have been non-exisitant...its a manual transmission.

Do you folks have a list of recommended up grades for performance?

exhaust, headers, a hypertech/superchip programmer, and a new intake are 4 acessories you will notice a big difference with. all of which are fairly cheap.

 

What brands are the ones to look for in those items....Im a little behind the kewlness times on truck toys.

 

A fastman throttle body is an awesome upgrade. a K&N cold air intake goes nicley with it.

 

180 degree t-stat to compliment all those mentioned

 

dont buy edelbrock headers..they are junk.. im pretty pissed at Vic

gibson headers

flowmaster gibson maganflow mufflers (and a highflow cat) dual 2.25 or single 3" exhaust pipes

hypertech programer

napa 180 stat

K&N for the intake... thats the only brand your gonna need to know for intakes!

MSD wires/ autolite plugs

MSD 6A box (maybe after the rest of the mods are done)

Fastman TB (52MM)

300 for the intake 300 for the headers 300 for the program and the rest for the exhaust system... easly spend a grand on the BIG 4 (what i like to call it) those prices are best guest..cant remember what i paid for all of mine
