Default Body Lift

Hey, puttin on a 3 inch body lift soon. I actually have the lift and a set of energy body mount bushings to go with it. Anything else that I need to look at or change out while the Ram is down?

Hmm, I dunno. I didn't really check anything else when I did mine. Only took a fe hours, pretty straight foward.

Yea, seems like it is pretty easy by just reading the instructions. I heard it was a good idea to change the mounts out due to the higher stress being put on them. Henceforth, the new bushings. I am just waiting on them to get here before I start to tackle the job.

Rear bumper brackets if you have a rear bumper, or you can drill out the existing brackets too. Also there is a a set of ground wires on the firewall right above the tranny fluid dipstick that needs to be relocated lower or they stretch too much.

Hey, thanks for the tips. I do by chance have the rear bumper brackets. I tow but I use a mounted cat. 3 hitch to do this so hopefully that will not be a problem. I do have a Volant CAI. Does anyone think that there will be unwanted stress on any part of that with the drop in the engine compartment?

watch the hard tranny lines off the radiator. not sure, but mine look like they were damaged and hacked during a 3" body lift. and yes, definitely the ground wires. they get pulled as tight as guitar strings. also, i believe the radiator shroud is an issue.

I am looking to put a 3" body lift and a 3-4" suspension lift on my 97 Ram Sport x-cab 4x4. Does anyone have a good site, or recommend a good body lift for a SPORT, and body bushings. I am going with a Pro Comp Suspension lift. Any comments please post. I will be doing this withing the next month. Thanks......

Along with the ground wires, the bundle at the top under the rubber that has a couple off drops to the rear of the engine. I just cut the center ty-raps that held it. Wires got tight as it was going up.

I didn't get the rear bumper brackets, I just re-drilled mine. The front edge of the frame will need approx. 1/8 to 1/4 inch trimmed off for clearance for the relocation bracket to properly set the front bumper.

If you haven't changed your coolant lately, and/or have been considering doing so in the near future. Would be good to do first. The bracket that lowers the fan shroud is in front of the drain valve on my 97. Not a big issue, just one less bolt to take loose when draining.

Just follow the directions and take your time. The directions on mine didn't say how tight to tighten the body bolts. The dealer said 60 ft/lbs. Might want to verify this. The Performance Accessories kit was good.
