curiosity is killing the cat
I've been working for a county Conservation District for the past 11 years. My function as an engineer is to design waste handling systems for farmers in an effort to prevent what is called non-point source pollution from entering the streams and ending up in the Chesapeake Bay. Basically, I perform surveys, create CAD drawings, and write contract specs so contractors can build manure structures, barn yards, waste water transfer and treatment facilities, and a host of other things. The main idea is to clean up farms and keep the poop out of the streams.
Before that I worked for a land surveyor, a road construction company, I was a laborer for a township road crew, I ran a log skidder for my brother, worked several years for a dairy farmer, and spent my childhood and teen years working on my dad's small beef farm. Agriculture is in my blood, and I hope I can remain in that area.

I was in the service for 4 years, got out and got a job managing a retail pet store for 2 1/2 years, worked as a correctional officer for 2years and have been a steel worker for the last 9. Man, I'm getting old. [
