Still don't see how that caused your truck to downshift to 1st gear. I would think the ultra high RPMs you saw is what caused the engine problem, not the other way around.

went into the shop where i got the head at and they said it's defective and that there going to replace it my dad thinks the pistons are ok i will try to get pics up tonight of the stuff, and the truck downshifted causing the high rpm i'm going to drop the tranny pan as soon as i get the engine done to see if it's full of crap.

well I got a the head yesterday and my dad was sick so I ended up putting the thing back together by myself last night. got home from school at 3:30 and I took if for a drive at 9:30 and it all works fine nothing in the tranny pan I dont know why it messed up so I just decided to take it easy for the first couple of days.
