so driving down the road today at about 70mph when my truck decides that it wants to down shift into 1st and rev my motor to the stop on the tach probly like 6500 and it starts popping and crackling and i stop and my truck is running like crap and shaking and i decide to drive home and on the way trying to keep it running i rolled thru a stop and caused and accident and got a $75 ticket but they missed my truck and hit a gaurd rail. so i think i'm going to go to a junk yard and trying to find a motor with a manul tranny and get all it's running gear and convert my truck into a stick.

Clogged injector or yes a cylinder crack is possible.

Swap cylinder 7 injector with another cylinder and if the misfire follows you found the problem

Umm, I'm assuming the light came on after the 6500 rpm incident? If so, the engine & ignition obviously wasn't designed for that rpm and **** will misfire like there's no tomorrow...clear the codes and hope for the best.

compresion is 150 all around but 5 and 7 5 is 115-120 and 7 is 90 so i think i must have cracked the head or blew a head gasget.

pulled the head off and found out that the reman head was repaired at one time and had been ground and welded by the valve. well the reason thats important is that the weld fell off into cylinder number 3 and beat the hell out of that piston and then moved to cylinder 5 and 7 and did a bit of damage to them to so i'm going to take the head back to the shop where i got it and see if they will make things right.
