I am not sure how recent this is, but it is dated 2006, so it can't be that old. Just thought this may help out some of the K&N owners.

I'm going to call to make sure, but I think that is why the kit I bought was 57-1511-2. That is supposed to be the one made of the material that replaced the ones talked about in that recall (57-1511-1). Thanks for posting this.

Just spoke with Marty in the warranty department at K&N. She said that if you have the 57-1511-2, you already have the upgraded tube material, and will not have anything to worry about in regard to this recall. She suggested you also just make sure by looking for the imprinted markings on the bottom side of the tube as described on the recall website.

wow, it's about time they did a re-call on it. I had the center piece bust on me and bend the #2 plug electrode so it wouldnt fire right. they warranty'd it out and the new one was better. seemed to be thicker in the mounting area on the TB hat.

I have the recalled version. It is marked "P7" on the bottom.

I called them and they were very cool about it.

Should be getting the new one this week.

Thanks for posting this... I would have never known!!!
