i would just like to say that ive had my sway bar off for about a month and a half... and infact driving at 60 on RT19 win wester NY.. I swerved severly to miss a dear (about a week ago) and had not 1 problem.. i havnt noticed a change what so ever.. and had no problem recovering from the swerve... (stock suspension with offroad package) in fact i dont even think the sway bar actually does anything... my truck has the same amount of body roll then it did before the sway bar was taken off...

but its your truck, its a free country, so as you please... while you still can

and as i said in the first post, my sway bar was already disconnected on one side, so i've been driving without the sawy bar effects since i got the truck... it feels fine to me, and i have swerved hard before, and have been in complete control.
I respect that it is a personal decision, and it is a free country, so I'll make this my last comment on this...I'm thinking why not go ahead and petition Chrysler to remove the sway bars from their vehicles...they apparently don't know anything about rollovers, the sway bars were just added for looks and styling. Come on, we're not driving Cavaliers or Neons basically sitting on the ground...we're driving big-*** pickups with 33's that will rollover given the right circumstances...the same circumstances wouldn't even come close to rolling over a Neon or other small car...it's common sense, a vehicle with a higher center of gravity needs additional rollover protection than one with a lower center. It boggles my mind that just because you can't feel any difference now, you think you're never gonna need the sway bar again...I'd like to borrow the crystal ball, then I'll remove mine.

/end rant

fiveliterbtr, i respect your opinion, but according to your way of thinking, no one should deviate from the stock setup on their vehicles either. 33's are going to make my truck slightly more prone to rollover also, as is a lift. both of those will have a MUCH larger effect on rollovers than a sway bar will.

but, i am building my truck for offroad use. and with that in mind, i drive it slower, and take corners more carefully, that i would in a smaller car.

driving a truck at all is a much greater rollover risk than, say, a neon. hell, driving at all is a risk. if my truck ever gets so modified to the point where i don't feel it's safe on the road, then i will save it only for the trails.
