anyone else get rid of swaybar?
Yes, it's true that SOME older vehicles (like the Model T) didn't have sway bars, but A LOT of them did...a lot more than people realize.
Trucks especially benefit from them due to their high center of gravity, which is prone to a lot of body roll.
Do you drive the truck at speeds faster than 35? Because that's all the faster you need to go for you to regret not having one. You may not notice it in normal driving, but if you EVER have to make a quick/panic/emergency swerve/turn, the results will NOT be good.
I don't care if you choose to put your life in danger...it's your choice, but please don't put others in danger as well. [>:]

I pulled the sway bar off my old Cj-7 after I lifted it. I put 4" springs on over the axles and rode her around on a nice set of 36's. Made many many quick pannic maneuvers and never had a problem with not having a sway bar on it. Still have it on my RAM though

Mines off and has been for a long time. I didnt notice hardley any difference, but my shocks and coils are a little stiffer than stock.

But I've talked to several Jeep owners that have tried it with stock suspension components, and they say it's not a good idea. If it's not a good idea for a Jeep...then it's definitely not going to be good for a truck, which has more weight and height. [>:]

Scratch Lakewood, NJ off my list of places to visit...you're crazy. You guys may think you've been in every situation with the sway bar removed, but there's a fine line from complete control, to complete chaos in this situation. Good luck, and God-speed.
Nothing personal about the "you're crazy", not intended as a flame...but from a professional stance, you're crazy :P.

i would just like to say that ive had my sway bar off for about a month and a half... and infact driving at 60 on RT19 win wester NY.. I swerved severly to miss a dear (about a week ago) and had not 1 problem.. i havnt noticed a change what so ever.. and had no problem recovering from the swerve... (stock suspension with offroad package) in fact i dont even think the sway bar actually does anything... my truck has the same amount of body roll then it did before the sway bar was taken off...
but its your truck, its a free country, so as you please... while you still can

and as i said in the first post, my sway bar was already disconnected on one side, so i've been driving without the sawy bar effects since i got the truck... it feels fine to me, and i have swerved hard before, and have been in complete control.
