yea you can get it at a dealer. im guessing you just yanked the axle shaft out. i think its the C clip and the dana 44 as only one c clip on that side.
Thats the C-Clip retainer?
You are correct about yanking it out - or actually beating it out, but I thought that was just the bearing housing in the hub, it was terribly gualded..
Well I found one dealer sorto open, but all computers were down - he looked in the books and said being its plastic I can probably just put it back together..
It looks as if just the ring on outside broke and sleeve was still in tact..
Anyway, just installed it and drove to advanced to return U-Joint tool (Awsome tool by the way)
and all seems just fine...
also for future people changing Front u-joint, I heard alot of complaints about the axle nut - there is no need to remove that... I just unbolted bearing assembly and everything pulled out with.
Thanks for reply, don't know why it needs a C-Clip when the bearing holds axle in?
So are you actually supposed to remove cover on those and remove a c-clip?

i dont know why but i know theres a C clip in there somewhere. maybe for when the cad moves. im not totally sure. ill have to look that one up.
I thought they usually used C-Clips in LSD rear ends, I thought the stock D44 had an open front diff. Either way thast the only clip I can think of being in there. But usually the C-Clips are pretty thick and made of steel, not plastic. Unless an open diff uses different parts.
