Default leveling kit ok?

I just wanted to make sure before I order it, is there any problem with putting on a leveling kit if I have the off road package (2001 ram 1500) ? I was told the offroad package included a 3" lift, and not sure exactly how the level kit works.

I have the 2" leveling kit on my 01 off road and it hasn't caused any problems.

Do you have to worry about pinion angle when messing with this stuff? Or does the kit take care of that?

I had a couple friends switch out their rear blocks on F-250s. The extended cab short bed did fine but the crew cab long bed went through a driveshaft and new diff.

i guess it could've been his bad driving or just dumb luck....

Well i had the same questions you did about the leveling kit.

In theory sliding in the 2 inch leveling kit is all you have to do. It doesnt change anything in your truck just adds alittle lift. Now keep in mind your shocks might not be happy about being 2 inches longer all of a sudden. I guess it would depend on what you have for shocks. I was informed by the guys in here its better to just buy longer springs at summitracing.com and forgo the spacers. I have the nose droop too and this is what I am going to do.

Add on a new bumper - it will be heavier and make it droop more

Add on the lift - once i see how much droop I have -so I can clear 35 inch tires.

Do a search in this forum on SPACERS
