exhaust
i wanna do exhaust on my dodge. 1994 5.9L short bed. whats the cheepest way to get the best sound. i would like to duals but i dont have the money right now. i was thinking about a flowmaster 40 series just in place of the stock muffler. is that a little ghetto/half assed? how will it sound with the stock tail pipes and everything? one more question. anyone know the size of the stock exhaust incase i decide to just go with the 40 series? so i know which size to order
Im not sure how much your looking to spend but i got mine split after the cat, 2 glass packs, and 3" stainless steel tips straight out the back for $250. sounded pretty good, then i had to replace my cat, put on a high flow and now its sounds awesome...not just good.

Also, I notice when everyone talks about this, they mention cutting off the stock muffler, but is it necessary to cut it off? I mean, mine is clamped on. (or so it appears at least) So since the clamps are sooo rusted, can't I just take a cut-off wheel to the clamps then cut those off?
I ask because I don't have access to a sawzall untill school starts back up.
Also, you got a video/sound clip of it?
you are right, you will be able to cut the clamps with a grinder or such, but the problem is pulling the male pipe from the female end, they are vertually welded together with rust. if you dont have a sawsall around you could go to a local rental shop and rent one for like 5 bucks an hour, otherwise someone you know must have a sawsall.
