Great thing for oil change
While at AutoZone over the weekend, a buddy of mine was there and was getting ready for the same thing that I was, OIL CHANGE. He had told me to try to this Lucas Oil Additive. It cost $9 a quart and for a dodge I bought 4 quarts of oil and this Lucas. A regular oil change for me cost $15 and this one ran me $33. After filter and everything it was 33 plus I bought fuel injector cleaner. I don't know if any of you have tried this Lucas oil additive but I believe in it and think you shoud try it. At idle, my pressure was usually under 40 psi., but his time after this new oil change, at idle, the pressure was over 40 psi. Has anyone tried it and what did you think?
I used to run 1 quart of Lucas in my Jeep along with 5 quarts of Oil on the Orriginal 258 I-6 when she got up to around 200,000 miles. Then after I blew the old motor I ran 1 quart of Lucas with 5 quarts of Synthetic in the Built 258 I-6 I put in my jeep to bring her back to life. Loved that stuff.
I would gladly pay 9 bucks a quart for that stuff. Makes the oil pressure raise up, will not make sludge out of any oil, and 9 bucks every two or three months is better than paying 1500 bucks down the road for a engine re-build.
I have seen that product on the shelf at Autozone and was wondering how good it was as well. I have been using Valvoline's Maxlife Synthetic 10w30 in my truck since I bought her used 2 ys ago with 69k. I will swear by that stuff.
My next oil change I am going to try adding the Lucas additive to the oil change and see if it helps cut down on burning a little over a quart between oil changes.
Does anyone else use some kind of oil system cleaner product to flush out any gunk/sludge just prior to an oil change? There's a brand that I forget the name of at Autozone (big grey bottle) that I've been using this year. Was wondering anyones thoughts on these products or certain brands.

Well mike my tranny has a hole in it so that you don't over fill it. Like you put fluid into it till it starts to run out of there. I don't really know what to do.
my grandpa swears by that stuff. he's been putting it in his truck as long as i can remember. try the lucas power steering fluid too. my dakota had a steering leak and i was told to put that in it so i did and it "fixed" the leak and felt smoother at the same time.
When I put that stuff in this last oil change, it raise my pressure by 10-20 psi. And by putting in the lucas fuel injector cleaner, I can actually tell a diffrence in how my truck drives.
