1.7 rockers

Main reason for the B&G flash is to raise shift points. The pcm will adapt to the increase in air flow. The M1 is supposed to pull all the way up to 6k, so if your shifting at 4.8k you're not really getting your money's worth. Bottom end loss is about the same as with a K&N CAI. The reason for the loss is decreased vacuum signal. A turtle decreases the intake's volume to counter this, and also supposedly helps to direct the airflow into the runners better. If you already have a CAI with a cotton filter, you probably will notice no change in low end torque, so I hear. Weather permitting, I will know for sure tommorrow.

When I called the Mopar performance hotline they said that the stock pcm would adapt to a 2bbl single plane M1. I do agree that it will only compensate to a point, and you certainly will not get any argument out of me that these trucks don't run better on the B&G flash than the stock pcm, Superchips, or anything else for that matter, but, as far as the M1 flash goes you will see far more out of the higher shift points than the revised timing and fuel tables. The turtle is not needed, but logic would dictate that it does help with low end power as the decrease in intake volume would have to increase vacuum signal. Which is why you supposedly lose low end power anyway. How much vacuum- I do not know. I already have the turtle installed in the M1 ready to go on. I will take a vacuum reading after the install, and, if I get bored, I may take it out and take another. If I do I will post the results.
I'm curious, how does the turtle install in the intake? Does it bolt in? Did you get the cone shaped one, or pyramid/triangular?
If you can, it would be awesome if you could post some pics of the m1 an turtle before you install them.

Basically, I have an egr M1 and a turtle designed for the non-egr. I took the egr plug that came with the install kit, drilled and tapped it, inserted it into the egr tube in the bottom of the plenum, then threaded the turtle screw into it (using teflon tape on both threads of course).

not a problem. Yall answered my roller rocker questions, so im glad to let the thread wonder into something that is interesting to me as well, the M1 and the PCM flash.
No worry about it, mopowar!!! Just keep on with the pics and info!

Hope you don't mind the question here but do you ever wish you had gone with the harland sharp adjustable rockers rather than the non-adjustable? I'm going to purchase a set of some brand to install with the M1 intake and headers.
Thanks!
Thanks!
if your question is directed to me, i have not yet installed my rollers but they are on their way. I dont really know why anyone would wish they had gotten the non-adjustable, unless they were wanting to go to the larger 3/8" diameter rods. Dont you have to convert over to the larger rod if you us the adjustable?
As for me, i think ill pass on setting the lash and just stick to the quick and easy non-adjustable.
Anyone else got an answer?
