Default OFF ROAD COIL ?

Anyone know the load rating of the 225AA coils used on off road rams......i pondering wether to get a set of them or the #037/#038 3/4 coils for my 1999 qc ram 4x4. I'm looking at the 3/4 b/c i will be putting a plow on the truck and i don't want a ton of drop in the front....any idea...thanks

Justin

Try this page. It tells you the load ratings for the different front springs on Rams. http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/springs.htm

#39 spring on the driver side and a #38 on the passenger side are the plow package springs.

If you were putting on a heavy plow, like a Vee (I'm guessing you're not with a 1/2 ton) you'd want to use #48 on the passenger side and #49 on the driver side.

thanks for the info.....no info on the load rating of the 225AA coils? i was thinking of going #037's b/c i can get the height and they will be stiff and good for a plow but will be a tad less stiff than the #038's....what you guys think....i appreciate any input....

thanks

There doesn't appear to be any. I'd assume it's somewhere between the 3/4 ton coils and the 1/2 ton coils.

I'm not sure if you meant go with 2 #037s, but you may want to actually go with a #037 on the pass. side and #038 on the driver side (because of the driver, battery, gas tank, brake booster).

It will make a difference. I plowed with my Ramcharger for almost 16 years with just the stock springs in it, and it noticeably leans towards the driver side.
