Default Another How Much Lift Question

Ok, I have a pretty quick question. My truck clears 285/75R16 tires stock. Does anybody know for sure how much lift I need to clear 37x12.5x16.5's? My truck is a half ton 4x4 R/C longbed. I know I could lift it way up there...but I'm pretty stuck on those tires (military surplus) and I don't like trucks with too much lift and too small a tire. Thanks!

Right now I have enough parts to either do a 3" lift, a 5" lift, or an 8" lift. All are suspension!

How wide of a rim/offset? I have 6" of lift and 35's with a 10" wheel. Might could squeeze 36's without rubbing, but doubt it.

You'd need at least the 5"....probably the 8". You'd also need to re-gear to 4.56s or 4.88s, which is gonna cost you some pretty good $$$$

I'm also kinda curious...what do you mean you have enough parts to do a 3", 5" or 8" ???? [>:]

I can do 3/5/8 because I'm a cheater. I will say it involves BDS and Whiplash lift kits...just ordering select parts from each. The parts I'm not going to order are coming by way of re-arched rear springs with a leaf added. I am using a 16.5x9.75 wheel with 4 13/16 backspace. The only thing I don't have for the lift is upper/lower control arms and that's only because I don't know how much lift I'm going to do. I don't want to get too big right now...because the truck still does daily driver duty and 49" Irok's aren't feasible. I've got the gear thing under control. The main thing I'm confused about is I thought you had to lift the truck to clear 33's and right now it clears them stock.

you have a 2500 right?? they already sit 2 inches higher then a 1500 4x4.. some people say 33's rub on stock hieght and some dont.. i cleared 33's easy with stock height and could still flex.. since you have a 2500 you can clear 33's easy.. you could fit 35's if you wanted with alittle rub.. just get a 5 inch and you can handle 37's.. that would equal a 7 inch lift for us 1500 guys

Ok, now I have a bigger problem. The Eagle 186 wheels I was going to get appear to be on national backorder. So, if anyone knows where I can get a set of wheels in 16.5x9.75 on 5x5.5 bolt pattern please let me know ASAP!
