hey this is my first post on dodgeforums.com
but i my 98 dodge 1500 5.2 Liter has 250,000 miles on it and i put another engine in it so it may need a tune up. how much would that cost?
and also it always sounds like it is sucking a lot, and i mean a lot of air, its pretty loud (the sucking noise) and it especially does it when you rev the engine. does anybody know what it might be?
thanks
Kris

i took the air filter housing off where i could see the throttle body and right behind where the throttle body flappers are, on the back side of the engine i can feel where all the is being sucked where the noise is coming from. when its started it sounds like im getting to much air in the motor and i am running at nearly 100 psi oil pressure. this is another engine i got out of a 94 dodge ram 5.2 Liter
do you think i may need a new throttle body? how much would it cost? is it easy to change out?

I had a bad sucking sound on start up on my ram. It ended up being the plenium cover on the bottom of the intake. These things are totally prone to sucking the gasket in. Go to www.hughesengines.com They have a 1/4" thick aluminum upgrade plate for around $80. Fixed mine right up.
