Default ABS/Brake light sensor

I know this has been discussed many times, but my Dad has a 95 1500 4x4 5 speed and the abs/brake light on the dash stays on all the time but the speedo works fine. I thought from all the posts I've read the speedo usually dooesn't work right either and it is the sensor on the rear axle. Could this still be the case or is there something else to look for? Thanks in advance.

I had the rear diff speed sensor go out, but along with that, my speedometer would not start working until around 20 mph. Then, then, the "kick-in" point started moving higher, so that it wouldn't work until 35 mph. So I replaced the sensor and the speedo worked fine. Since the speedo is working in your case, I would try other components -- check all the connections. I don't know anything about the ABS plungers, control modules, etc.

If its not the speed sensor (I'd replace that first though) it could be something with the ABS module.

I actually bought the sensor from rockauto.com and replaced the sensor on the back rear transfer case and the light went off and I've never had another problem.
