transfer case fluid question
I'm doing the routine fluid swaps in everything on the truck. Engine Tranny and Diff. I figured while I was in there I would swap the t-case fluid since I havn't changed it since I had the truck so who knows whats in there and how long its been in there for.
The book says to use DexronIII automatic fluid. Some websites say ATF+3. I am putting ATF+4 Syn in the tranny and I was wondering if I could do the same for the t-case. Or what fluid you guys use.

I am by no means an expert but I did my trans and transfer case about 2 years ago with Dexron III and both have been fine.
I drive mostly city and highway.
I only use 4WD in the snow... so not that often.
I do not take my truck off-road very much at all and am pretty gentle if i do.

Thats what I am going to use is the extra ATF4 Syn that I bought.
One observation on the synthetics, good lord to they SMELL!! Changing the tranny fluid yesterday, that stuff straight reeked to high heaven
