Better start savin up: Look what i found in the tranny pan
Hi. I am in the process of adjusting the bands and changing the tranny fluid and filter. First time I have ever done this and probably first time on this truck. Pan was a beezy to get off. To my surprise look what I found. The picturees arent the best sorry. There are about a quarter of an inch of thin metal shavings piled up on the magnet as well as the large piece that is in the picture. Anyone know what it is from? If i get a quick response I will take more picture otherwise I am going to continue with changing the fluid and filter and bands. Thanks

Wherever that came from it's probably a good thing the magnet grabbed it. Foreign objects like that can totally destroy gears if fed in properly. The end of it is all mangeled like it got caught in something.[&:] I'd skip the band adjustments unless the truck drives aweful. Put it back together, fill it and hope for the best.
That piece isn't actually mangeled, those are just metal shavings stuck to it. I think it is from those two circular pistons in the tranny. I ended up skipping the bands because I didn't have the right sized socket.

Not sure what that larger piece is though.
