Steering Stabilizer Shopping
Basically looking for the part number for the steering stabilizer shock. I'm looking at some Rancho RS9000's but they only list front and back shocks... is there a part # for this shock? Am I better off just getting a replacement from the stealership? I'm mostly city driving now but I do go out to the rough stuff on weekends.
Is is the same as the front shock maybe? (Looks smaller)
(Pic is of a Jeep with RS5000)

1994-99 4WD Ram 1500 (1⁄2 Ton) w/ O.E. Steering Stabilizer (Bolts to O.E. Mounts) SINGLE — RS5404
If you're looking for a 9000 series stabilizer, I think they're all 5000 series...and no, a normal shock is not the same as the stabilizer...a normal shock is constantly trying to expand to keep the tire in contact with the road...the steering stabilizer is valved the same in both directions. If it was the same as a normal shock, the steering wheel would keep trying to turn itself in one direction.

Will the Rancho 5000 replace the stock steering stabilizer without adding additional brackets?

My 98 does not have a steering stabilizer shock, how hard is it to install one or even the duel set up?

High Five. My '97 2500 is an 8800#'er and the listing showed an RS 5403 and it said I needed a bracket kit RS 5541. It seems you also keep your OE shock on too. Don't know why and since I don't do a lot of heavy transporting and my tires are stock 245'ers (soon to be 265) but I think the RS 5404 in OE mounts should be sufficient. Any body?
