Default Exhaust ?

Hey, let me know what you guys think. I am thinking about going with this setup. 2.5 inlet / 2.5 outlet 40 series flowmaster single pipe. However, got a chance to get a 4 inch tail pipe cheap and I want to add a reducer in for 2.5 to 4 inches. My guess is that I should not loose my back pressure with the 2.5 in 2.5 out muffler. What say you?

If you dont mind losing a small amount of back preasure go for it. I got rid of my tail pipes and went with turndowns right off the back of my 40 series and noticed a slight low end loss. Sounds loud as hell though!! I love the 40 series!

I was hoping not to loose too much back pressure but I do want the loudness. I figured the 4 inch tail pipe would add to that anyways. I currently have a 40 series but it is a delta flow and they are not as loud as the originals. I will put me an original on my ram and put the delta on my ranger. I already have the reducer, just waiting on the pipe.

For good low end go single 3" out or dual 2.25" outs.

I agree. I would suggest scrapping the 4" pipe idea and go with a single in dual 2 1/4" out Flowmaster 40 with 3 1/2" chrome tips. Thats what I have and it sounds awesome. A single in - out will not be very loud.....
Dan the Fastman says to go with the dual 2.25's or a single 3" for best low end also.

I think the 4" he was talking about was the tip.

I agree with the posts above. The BEST setups for exhuast for our trucks is either a single 3" or dual 2.25".
