95 Ram 1500 Stock cab, Where can I find a +12 Volt hot wire?
OK, I have finally gotten ALL my parts for the new stereo installation.
Here is my question tho,
I am adding onto this stereo a RCA input box, This requires a +12 Volt wire.
I really dont want to CUT OR TAP any connections which are existing.
I am wondering if there is any Unused leads in the dash area which will supply a
+12 volt supply UNSWITCHED, So constant on. (I am not sure why it should be constant
hot but im following the manual for the CD-RB20 (RCA input and pass through for a
Multi cd changer. Which im ONLY using the RCA for now.
but long question short
other than tapping a existing line
is there another +12 volt hot lead under the dash thats usualy unused?
the manual says NOT to run a direct to battery lead from cab.
thanks everyone

i run all my power accessories in my cab straight to the battery. just add a fuse, you'll be fine. there's a big grommet/rubber plug thing slightly to the left and above where the steering shaft goes through the firewall, thats where i ran my wires through. just stab a hole through it with a screwdriver

if its just for that rca jack i would just run a wire to the fuse box on the side of your door in the cab. i have about 4 wires going into that thing.
I'm not sure wat fuse has a constant, so you will have to do trial and error. Just pull the fuse out try to get the wire into the groves the metal peices on the fuse go into, then put the fuse back in. It might be kinda hard to get the fuse back in, so dont worry about really tryn to push that fuse back in.
I know on my '98 I don't have power seats, so the relay spot is empty in the fusebox inside the truck. I tested it out and that is constant 12 volt power. It is something to think about if you ddon't have some power accesories.
