3" lift/tires
I am looking to put a 3" suspension lift on the dodge and was wondering if anyone had any input as far as brand and what it would look like with stock tires and rims. I have 3 sets of tires for her and don't necessarily want to dump any more cash into un-needed rubber. She is a daily driver with very little offroad use...mostly just dirt roads/trails. not exactly off-roading or mud bogging. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
if your not going to be really taking it offroad i would recommend just getting a 2 inch spacer to level it out and run some agressive tire on it. im not trying to put you down or anything but theres really no use for it and 3 lift with stock tires isnt going to look the greatest. plus by adding the lift your only asking for thing to wear out twice as fast and believe me i know that one very well
so you have 265's?? i think thats stock.. i have 285's with a 3 inch lift.. pretty much your truck would look like a 2500 or diesel with stock tires.. but i think they come with 285's

They were also stock on 1/2 ton models. 265s were optional.
I don't think 285s were even a factory option, at least not on the early 2nd gen Rams. Maybe on 99+ models they were.
ugh tani?, 3" really shouldnt make stuff wear out fast, by personally installing my lift i was able to look at all the moving parts where things came apart and other pieces and it looks like not going over 3 like mine nothing is really much different just little different angle.

now see,i did it back wards, I did 285/75/r16s on my truck stock, then added the lift.... I jsut anted ot sit a tad taller than a 1 ton,thats all I was looking for... I LOVE the look, but taller tires Do look better
I did the 2" lifted coils and AAL in the rear, and I always sit just a tad higher (as measured by looking at the mirrors side by side and the height of the beds) then any stock 2500/3500 I ever park next to. I'm usually taller then ones with 285's too, but probably becasue their stock suspension has sagged some. Overall, I would say my 2" lift is about as high as a 2500/3500 with 285's unsagged.

It was a good thing I did too because I can barely get in with this lift, and can't get in at all if I have the topper on (it sticks up above the cab by an inch or little less). I like to us my garage in the winter time.

i have 2 sets of p265/70 r 16"s and 1 set of p265/75 r 16's i am actually looking at just a standard skyjacker 2"lift kit with coils up front and an aal in the rear also thinking about a sj dual steering stab. i think i could pull off a 2" lift and still run the 265/70's without it looking dumb.. what are your thoughts?
