Exhaust question
Hey guys, this is my first post.
My exhaust is starting to give up on me so I need a little assistance figuring out what to get.
What I want to do is leave the stock manifolds, replace the cat and buy a cat back so i can bolt it all on myself. I would get headers but this
is a quasi work truck that I don't drive a whole lot and don't want to throw a ton of money into, plus it'll never be as fast as my other ride.
I want something with a better sound and maybe a bit better mileage.
The system I am getting is the Flowmaster American Thunder system. Ive seen a few around and I like the sound.
Basically I want to know is if this cat will work with the cat back I want. If not then what options do I have?

Oh, here's my ride
96 Ram 1500 4x2, 160,000 miles and running strong, Standard cab, long bed, 318 Auto, modified valve body, LSD, K&N Intake, vinyl tonneu cover,
All synthetic fluids, Accel tuneup kit, accel coil, Hypertech reprogramed, kenwood mp3 deck, profile amp and MB Quart speakers.

The cat is a direct bolt on replacement, so it shouldn't cause a problem with the rest of the system.
Don't no why everyone left you hangin. First post and no response. Not very neighborly of us. Welcome....

my 97 has the cherry bomb dual exhaust. nice sounding and seems to give truck a little more pep. as far as a cat i took mine off ran a metal pipe through it and smashed a big hole straight through center end to end. every now and then my CEL comes on but it doesnt effect the performance.most new cats are fully bolt on just sawsall old one off and install new one
