before i got my flowmaster on my truck, i had just straight pipe, it sounded aweseome as hell, what really made it sound good is the backfiring you get from down shifting...and the performance, you could tell a difference, gave it some more pep off the line. but before you go through the trouble of gettin it off, unless you wanna take the chance like i did, better make sure its legal...some states got a noise level limit for cars and trucks.

i had the local muffler shop replace my cat with a dual in/dual out cat with an h pipe with no mufflers on my 98 ram, it sounds mean as hell, but it is very loud......just the way i like it, i also have true duals on my titan with no mufflers and a h pipe...it sounds just as mean...i love loud pipes
