You can order factory replacement and spend 15 hours replacing the actual dash No gaurantees it won't crack again though. [:'(]
If you're looking for a fix that will prevent it, I'm sorry to tell you that so far nobody has come up with one....and it has been discussed MANY times on the diesel truck boards that I frequent.

hmm, i picked up a factory replacement for 130 from the stealership...it does look like a PITA to replace, but i have to do it, there is literally nothing left of the original. the kid that i bought if from busted it all out. is there a walk through on the forum anywhere?
im also interested in a bezel replacement, any ideas on that?

Check out this thread: http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d...t=dash+replace
It is a PITA to replace. Around 10-15 hours IIRC.
I'm guessing your dash costs more because it's an 98+ style. That's just a guess though.

RE: I need a dash
Check out coverlaymfg.com My new dash overlay for my 98 Ram was $125. With a little sweat, effort, and epoxy my new dash looks great! My interior is gray but I went with black. I was afraid the color would not match exactly after years in the sun. I couldnt be happier with the result.
